Production Lead

Location: GH Foods Houston, TX

Summary

The production line lead directly supervises the employees on the production line.  They are responsible for the communication and proper execution of job assignments by means of training, placement of line workers, safety, and ensuring all productivity goals, company standards, and procedures are met.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all employees abide by company GMP’s.
  • Ensure production line has all required packaging and materials to maintain flow & reduce downtime.
  • Must have knowledge of all standard product rates & ensure line is meeting them.
  • Must be proactive in notifying mechanical issues to Maintenance.
  • Input Red Zone notifications when necessary.
  • Ensure safety & security for all employees.
  • Ensure quality and safety of the product by enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Thoroughly complete paperwork associated with job requirements.
  • Verifies label integrity & information.
  • Verifies full completion and accuracy of orders.
  • Pursues continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsibilities limited to scheduling and delegating tasks. Discipline, if necessary, will be handled by Production Supervisor or Manager.

Education/Experience Level, Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory type role preferred.
  • Previous experience handling food in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment:

  • Cold working environment (approx. 37F)
  • Physical hazards of working in and about moving machinery.
  • Must be cognizant of body and limbs so as to not be too close to machinery.

  • Compliance with GH Foods’ Good Manufacturing Practices [GMPs]

  • Understanding basic concepts of food borne illness.
  • Comply with all food labeling requirements as determined by specific job within company.
