Production Worker

Location: GH Foods Riverside, CA

Summary

The production employee will perform the basic assembly and process work of the finished product. Persons in this classification will perform a variety of tasks on a variety of assembly lines to achieve a finished product.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Perform one or more functions on the assembly lines including but not limited to; washing, peeling, cutting, weighing, boxing, un-boxing, stacking, wrapping, running product to assembly lines, weighing product, lid application, shrink band application, or other functions to accomplish tasks.
  • Employees must follow company policies including producing product at a constant rate, process produce into specified preparation at a consistent rate, and maintain an orderly work area, allowing minimal to no product to fall from work area.
  • Write and record basic information
  • Follow company GMPs for safe food handling.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by plant management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job does not have direct supervision over any positions.

Education/Experience Level, Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Previous food processing or food preparation skills preferred.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic counting skills.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is required to stand; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment:

  • Occasional cold working environment (approx. 37F)
  • Physical hazards of working in and about moving machinery.
  • Must be cognizant of body and limbs so as to not be too close to machinery.

  • Compliance with GH Foods’ Good Manufacturing Practices [GMPs]
  • Reporting any unauthorized persons in or about the facility as well as incidents of employee tampering to management.
  • Understanding basic concepts of food borne illness.
  • Comply with all food labeling requirements as determined by specific job within company.
